Early Life and Education
The American artist was born in 1937 and his place of birth is in Berlin, Germany. His parents lived in Shanghai, China for more than a decade but have to flee Germany because of the fomenting Nazi movement. When Peter was 11 years old, he moved to Haifa, Israel with his family and spent a few years in the city. The family went on moving to the west and reached Paris and lived there for many months. He developed a deep interest in art while being in Paris with his parents. In 1953, he settled in Bensonhurst, Brooklyn with the family members. He joined the Lafayette High School where he met future actor Paul Sorvino who was his classmate. He was also enrolled at the Art Students League of New York intending to receive formal art training and also studied under Frank J. Reilly.

Max with fid friend Tom Daly launched a small Manhattan arts studio in 1962 which was named The Daly & Max Studio. Their partnership in the business was later joined by Don Rubbo and the three started working together. They used to work for books and advertising and soon became the recognized people in the industry. Their arts used to present antique photographic images which were extremely outstanding. Max worked for pictures related to astronomy which later became famous in the nation.
Indian religious teacher Satchidananda Saraswati was invited by Max for a two-day visit in 1966. Satchidananda Saraswati resided in the United States permanently where he formed Integral Yoga International with the help of his students.
