Family Background
Shaharyar Khan was born as the descended from the royal family of former princely state of Bhopal and is the single son of her parents. While he was born in the Qasr-e-Sultani during the colonization of British government in British India. He is the only son of the ruler of the former princely state of Kurwai. When his mother migrated to Pakistan and married to Iftikhar Ali Khan, a former cricketer, his aunt Sajida Sultan turned to be the Begum of Bhopal. Professional Life and Career
In his early stage, Khan worked with Burmah Shell Oil and later joined the Pakistani foreign service. He became the Pakistani High Commission in London in the year 1960. From 1972 to 1982, he was appointed as the Pakistan’s ambassador to Jordan.
Mr. Khan became the UN Secretary-General Boutros Boutros-Ghali’s Special Representative to Rwanda on 1994. Also, he was the chairman of Pakistan Cricket Board from 2003 to 2006. Again in 2014, he was elected as the Chairman of the Pakistan Cricket Board. During this career, Shaharyar Khan was so popular that he was mentioned on international medias including Press Trust of India.
At present, Khan is contributing as a professor to the Lahore University of Management Sciences (LUMS). We came to know that he teaches the course named “Pakistan’s Foreign Relations”.
