“Would you accept an undefined physique despite putting in massive long-term efforts to have one? No. There’s a certain expectation given growth and the amount of time and effort that we devote to something, I think everyone can relate to that. When it comes to my racing, I’m no longer settling for an 8:30 finish when I’ve worked so hard to break 7 hours. You guys, Ironman 70.3’s are no joke ????????♀️. They require on average 7-14 hours of training a week, a dedicated nutrition plan, financial & time commitments, consistent rehab and strengthening, social life sacrifices, and a certain amount of mental preparedness and execution. They’re incredibly rewarding, challenging, and even deadly, and they give us something to feel good about when it comes to putting our bodies and minds to use in such an extravagant way. For some people, the only reason they keep doing them is to get better each time in some way, and that type of person is me. I’m done banking last place, and I’m only willing to get better from here. I pulled out not out of pride, but power.”
