How did he start his professional wrestling career?

In his early career, he used to wrestle for dark matches for Ring of Honor (ROH) in the year 2010. The following year, he started performing for ROH on a regular basis. He became popular after performing together with Caprice Coleman as the tag team called the C&C Wrestle Factory.

The C&C Wrestle Factory participated in the Tag team gauntlet match on December 23 at Final Battle 2011 where they successfully eliminated the Bravado Brothers for a future ROH World Tag Team Championship title shot. They lost to Wrestling’s Greatest Tag Team at Showdown in the Sun Chapter 1. Johnson lost to Tommaso Ciampa on the following day. They lost to S.C.U.M. (Jimmy Jacobs and Steve Corino) at Death Before Dishonor X: State of Emergency. They were able to continue their victory against the Bravado Brothers again on October 13.

They got victorious against ACH and TaDarius Thomas at Border Wars 2013 on May 4. They partnered with Jay Lethal in a winning effort against Matt Taven, Bobby Fish and Kyle O’Reilly at Relentless on May 18. Johnson lost to Davey Richards at Live And Let Die on July 8, 2013.

The following month of his departure from ROH, he was introduced as a participant in WWE’s Cruiserweight Classic tournament on June 13, 2016. During the tournament, he faced Clement Petiot in the first round and got victorious. However, he lost to Kota Ibushi which made him eliminate from the tournament on July 14, 2016. He earned huge support from the audiences who were chanting “please sign Cedric”. The Wrestling Observer Newsletter’s Dave Meltzer rated him with a 4 1⁄2-star.

He was announced as part of the upcoming cruiserweight division on the August 29 episode of Raw and made his debut on the September 19 episode of Raw in a fatal four-way match. He marked his first win on the September 26 episode of Raw where he teamed with Rich Swann in a winning effort against Drew Gulak and Lince Dorado. He was seen starting an on-screen relationship with Alicia Fox on the December 6 episode of 205 Live. The same night, he lost to Noam Dar who dedicated his win to Alicia Fox. This incident made them have a feud and face each other on the December 19 episode of Raw where Alexander came out as a winner. He revealed his decision to have a break-up with Fox on the January 10, 2017 episode of 205 Live.

It was revealed that he had a knee injury which would made him out of the ring for more than three months. On the May 23 episode of 205 Live, he made his return recording a win against Johnny Boone. He recorded his first title defense against Kalisto at the Greatest Royal Rumble event on April 27, 2018. He also defeated Buddy Murphy on the May 29 episode of 205 Live to retain his title. Turning heel and joining The Hurt Business

He formed a tag team with Ricochet on the April 6, 2020 episode of Raw and they became victorious against Danny Burch and Oney Lorcan. Both Alexander and Ricochet started feud with Bobby Lashley, MVP and Shelton Benjamin (The Hurt Business). They faced Lashley and MVP but was defeated on the July 6 episode of Raw. After this, MVP approached Alexander to join the Hurt Business.

Alexander marked a win against Benjamin in the August 13 episode of Raw making him earn the 24/7 title but couldn’t retain it longer as he lost the title back to Benjamin later on in the night.
