After serving in the United States Army, he began coaching in 1974-1975 with the Indiana Hoosiers before returning to West Point to coach Army cadets where he led them to a 73-59 record and one NIT berth in five seasons.

As the head coach at Duke University of Blue Devils since 1980 march 18, his career path has struck the heavens. Having 35 NCAA Tournament berths for the past 36 years and 24 consecutively, he has been the most successful coach in men’s NCAA tournaments. His Duke team has won 15 ACC championships, five NCAA tournament national championships, and reached 12 finals fours.

On March 20, 2011, Coach K won his 900th game with his blue devil team as well as on January 25, 2015, he became the first man to win 1,000 NCAA Division I basketball games.

Moreover, he won 90 total wins, including the NCAA Division I tournament in 2016. On February 16, 2019, he became the all-time winning coach in college basketball history at any level after winning his 1,123rd game.

His career journey has praised him in many ways as the best America’s coach award 2001, sportsman of the year 2011, making history award in 2013, coach K Court at Cameron indoor stadium.
Coach K was honored as coach Krzyzewski teaching character through sports award, awarded as the order of Lincoln by governor of Illinois in 2014 in the area of sports as well as receiving the golden plate award of the American Academy of Achievement in 1995.

Besides being the best coach and its reward he has received Humanitarian Award for civic service and charitable efforts.
