Game of Thrones & Joker grab attention for the 2020 Golden globes

The nominees for the  77 th Golden Globes Awards was released on Monday.   One of the most talked shows of 2019, “Game of Thrones,” was not nominated as a series while Kit Harington cut Best Actor in a TV Drama. The handsome hunk is nominated alongside Brian Cox of HBO’s Succession, Rami Malek of Mr. Robot, Tobias Menzies of The Crown, and Billy Porter of Pose in the best actor genre. Kit,  who has repeated the same two lines all season. Among them, one of the dialogue is “I don’t want it.”

Thus, it becomes one of the topics of the many jokes now flying across Twitter in the wake of the Golden Globe nominations. And another in the Games Of thrones was “snubbed” like this, fans would be outraged for the stars and show.  When official GoT account congratulated him then the dozen of the fans replied with this same Jon Snow meme from Season 8:

Previously the drama was the winner of earned Best Drama nominations in 2018, 2017, 2016, 2015 and 2012.

Nominated for saying “I don’t want it” and “you’re my queen” and other low-quality dialogue and not having any real story arc for an entire season.

Kit’s a great actor, but he was badly misused in season 8.

It’s not his fault the script was bad. He did a very good job.

So that’s another thing that’s surprising — that Kit Harington wasn’t just nominated for his role in the final season, he got a Best Actor nomination, not supporting. His role had nothing to do except mope about not wanting to take the throne from his lover-aunt Daenerys Targaryen (Emilia Clarke), mope about not wanting to kill Daenerys and then mopily kill Daenerys.

The 77th  Golden Globe Awards will air live on NBC on Sunday, January 5 and we have no doubt that the host Ricky Gervais will poke fun at Game of Thrones, but there are plenty of other topics for him to cover too.
