It was not long; her happiness was struck with a chaos. In 2007, Robin was diagnosed with Breast Cancer. In 2008, she went through a process of surgery along with eight chemotherapies, followed by six and a half week long radiation therapy.

After therapy, she returned back to her show GMA in 2012, where she was joyfully welcomed by her viewers and colleagues making her show grab number one ratings.

Looks like, Robin & sorrow goes one in one. While she just received an exhilarating news on the other hand, she received a grim news that she was suffering from myelodysplastic syndrome (MDS), a blood disorder which sought for immediate transplant.

Luckily, her sister was a perfect match donor. After her recovery, her mother felt ill, just few days before her blood transplant. Those ten years, gave her a total roller coaster ride. Where she expressed;

“It’s been ten years of immense sorrow, but also joy. You pick yourself back up and you keep moving forward as best you can. My sweet mama taught me that when you are knocked down, it takes courage to believe that the best is yet to come. This too shall pass. I’ve lived through hard times and I am stronger for it and I’m here. I get up every day and do what I can to be strong.”

Well, to mark the victory of successful bone marrow transplant on 2016 September, she took the occasion to celebrate it and to thank her mother, for teaching her to be patience.

In 2005, she was promoted as the co-anchor of GMA and during the same year, she was dating 40-year-old Amber Laign. But confrontation about her love was only made in 2013, October 29 through her status in Facebook. She thanked her family, friends and love.

She commenced the disclosure process by showcasing their happily posed photographs. Further, they walked together, on a red carpet “11th Annual GLSEN Respect Awards” in New York City.

So far, no confrontation about their previous partner has been made by any of them. Robert is still unmarried. Maybe she is waiting for a right time to get hitched on a pompous manner. Till date, the duo is still together and enjoying their love life. The option of getting a husband is just out of option.

Born on 1960, November 23, as Robin Rene Roberts at Alabama. She grew up in Pass Christian, Mississippi. She is the daughter of Colonel Lawrence E. Roberts and Lucimarian. She attended Pass Christian High School and graduated from Southeastern Louisiana University with a degree in communication.

In 1983, she began her anchoring career from WDAM-TV and later joined ESPN network in 1990.  She continued working in ESPN till 2005 and after that she worked for ABC channel.

In 2014, for her excellent anchoring she was awarded with Walter Cronkite Award for Excellence in Journalism. And in 2018, grabbed an award for Radio Television Digital News Foundation Lifetime Achievement Award.
