The British-American actor was born as Andrew Russell Garfield in 1983 in Los Angeles, California, the United States of America. Talking about his family, he is the son of Lynn Garfield (mother) and Richard Garfield (father). His mother is from Essex, England whereas his father is from California, the United States. His paternal grandparents were from England and his parents moved to the United Kingdom from Los Angeles when Andrew was just three years old. He spent his childhood days in Epsom, Surrey.

In 2012, Andrew made a recurring role as Spider-Man/Peter Parker in Marc Webb’s The Amazing Spider-Man opposite to Emma Stone as Gwen Stacy. This movie was a reboot of the Spider-Man film series and proved commercially successful. Andrew described the role of Peter Parker was an influencing character who has stimulated him since his childhood age. Performing the role of the spider-man was not an easy task. For this, he had to take special studies of athletes and spiders’ movements.
