Real name Carlos Ray Norris, he was born in 1940 in Ryan, Oklahoma to the parents named Ray Norris (father) and Wilma Scarberry (mother). His father was a soldier during World War II as well as a mechanic and truck driver. His nationality is American and talking about his ethnicity, Norris carries Irish and Cherokee ancestral background. He has two younger brothers named Wieland and Aaron. Wieland was killed in 1970 in Vietnam at the age of 27. Similarly, his brother Aaron is a Hollywood producer and a renowned celebrity as well.
Norris parents divorced during his teenage days. After the separation, he started living with his mother and brothers relocating to Prairie Village, Kansas and later to Torrance, California. Career and Professional Life
In 1958, Norris joined the United States Air Force. He was an Air Policeman and was placed to Osan Air Base, South Korea. He returned back to the country and was placed at March Air Force Base in California. In August 1962, he was discharged from the United States Air Force task.

For six consecutive years, he was the winner of Professional Middleweight Karate champion. Norris and Bruce Lee were trained for two years together and the pair developed a friendship during the late 1960’s.
