Rev. Run was born in 1964 and his place of birth is in Hollis, Queens, New York, the United States of America. Talking about his family background, he was born to the parents named Daniel Simmons (father) and Evelyn Simmons (mother). His father is a truant officer and black history professor whereas his mother used to work as a park administrator for the New York City Parks and Recreation Department.
He is also blessed with two older siblings named Danny Simmons (born on August 17, 1953) and Russell Simmons (born on October 4, 1957). Danny is a neo-African abstract expressionist painter whereas Russell is an entrepreneur/ record executive and writer.
Career and Professional Life
Simmons initially contributed the hip-hop group named “The Force” as its lead vocalist. Later, he founded Run-D.M.C. with his friend named Darryl “D.M.C.” McDaniels (born on May 31, 1964) where he started serving as a lead vocalist.
