Before pursuing his music career, Plant has done multiple jobs including his appointment in the major British construction company Wimpey in Birmingham. Plant met guitarist Jimmy Page who was in search of a lead singer in 1968.

He sang in front of Page singing Jefferson Airplane’s “Somebody to Love.” Together, Plant and Page developed a deep relationship and started working in collaboration for old blues songs. The band Led Zeppelin was formed in 1968 in London. The band’s first album was released on 12 January 1969 where Plant didn’t receive any songwriting credits. They were assisted by musician John Paul Jones and John Bonham as the drummer.

The band released their second studio album called Led Zeppelin II on 31 October 1969, by Atlantic Records. Some of the popular tracks from the albums are What Is and What Should Never Be, Whole Lotta Love, Thank You, Living Loving Maid (She’s Just a Woman), Heartbreaker and much more. In October 1970, the band released its third studio album which is produced by Jimmy Page. The following year, Led Zeppelin released their fourth album which was followed by their fifth studio album released in 1973.

The same year, the band released their next album named Physical Graffiti. The English rock band released their seventh studio album called Presence which was released on 31 March 1976, by Swan Song Records. Led Zeppelin’s eighth and final studio album called In Through the Out Door was released on 15 August 1979. It includes tracks like All My Love, Carouselambra, Fool in the Rain, In the Evening, South Bound Saurez and so on.

Regarding his solo career, his first album was released in 1982 which was named Pictures at Eleven. His second studio album was titled The Principle of Moments which was released in 1983. Continuing his solo musical journey, he released his third studio album named Shaken ‘n’ Stirred in 1985. Subsequently, Plant released his albums named Now and Zen, Manic Nirvana, Fate of Nations and Dreamland released in 1988, 1990, 1993 and 2002 respectively. His eighth studio album called Mighty ReArranger was released on 25 April 2005.

The album includes a popular single named Shine It All Around. On 13 September 2010, Plant released his next album entitled Band of Joy which includes the tracks like Cindy, I’ll Marry You Someday, Satan Your Kingdom Must Come Down and much more. His tenth studio album was titled Lullaby and the Ceaseless Roar released on Nonesuch/Warner Bros. Records in September 2014. On 13 October 2017, he released his eleventh solo studio album called Carry Fire on Nonesuch/Warner Bros. Records.

With Jimmy Page, he has released two collaborative albums named Walking into Clarksdale and No Quarter (Unledded). Also, the album named The Honeydrippers: Volume One was formed in collaboration with Jimmy Page and Jeff Beck as well. In 2007, Plant released Raising Sand in collaboration with Alison Krauss which was able to earn the Grammy award.

Robert Plant is a divorced man. He married Maureen Wilson in 1968. Their first child was born in 1968 as a daughter who was later married to Charlie Jones. The couple welcomed their second child as a son named Karac Pendragon in 1972 who died later in 1977 while Robert was in Led Zeppelin’s US tour.
