Born as Sean Taro Ono Lennon, he is an American singer, musician, songwriter and actor as well. He has released numerous albums including ‘Into the Sun’ and ‘Friendly Fire’. As an actor, he has contributed to movies like ‘Moonwalker’ and ‘Alter Egos’.

The American singer was born on October 9, 1975, which makes Sean Lennon age be 45 years old as of 2020. Sean’s place of birth is in New York City, New York. His mother Yoko Ono (born February 18, 1933) is a Japanese singer, multimedia artist and peace activist. Yoko is the second wife of her husband John. After the birth of Sean, his father turned as a house husband and took care of his pregnant wife and newborn son. Unfortunately, he was murdered on December 8, 1980, when Sean was at the age of 5.

Regarding Sean’s education and academic achievements, he joined a local kindergarten in Tokyo and later attended the exclusive private boarding school Institut Le Rosey in Rolle located in Switzerland. He was also enrolled at Dalton School and New York’s private Ethical Culture Fieldston School. He joined Columbia University for three semesters but dropped his studies in order to pursue his musical career.

Sean received one of the very first Macintosh computers from Steve Jobs who was visiting Manhattan in January 1984 for Sean’s birthday party given by her mother Yoko Ono. At the age of five, he initiated his musical career with the support of his parents.

Sean made his step in the musical world by reciting his mother’s 1981 album, Season of Glass. Despite losing his supportive father, his mother always supported him and helped him to continue his musical journey. He became the co-writer with Lenny Kravitz for the song “All I Ever Wanted” for 1991’s album Mama Said. He introduced a band named IMA in 1995 being accompanied by Timo Ellis and Sam Koppelman. He also managed to appear in the cast of Michael Jackson’s 1988 Moonwalker where he was seen portraying the role of a teenager.

Lennon was invited by Miho Hatori and Yuka Honda of Cibo Matto and his mom in 1996 to be in the tour as a bass player. They were working together for a Rising remix EP Rising Mixes for the song entitled “Talking to the Universe.” After the invitation, Lennon turned as a member of the group contributing to their side-project Butter 08. Lennon went on the tour and joined them on television by working at bass guitar and vocals.

Later, he was approached by Adam Yauch through the association of Cibo Matto to sign a record contract with Grand Royal Records. Lennon expressed his happiness and stated that he is happy to receive the deal offer just by his songs, not by his parents’ identity.

In 1998, he released in solo debut named ‘Into the Sun.’ One of the songs from the album named Home has a music video directed Spike Jonze. The album was produced by Yuka Honda to whom Lennon has stated to be the inspiration of that album.

The band worked for the opening of the independent film, Rosencrantz and Guildenstern Are Undead in 2009 where Sean served for the soundtrack to the movie. This band brought their most successful album named Midnight Sun which is the big hits to date by The Ghost of a Saber Tooth Tiger.
