The duo met for the first time while they were students at North Central Bible College in Minneapolis, Minnesota.  Later, she worked in a boutique for a time while Jim found work in a restaurant inside a department store in Minneapolis. After dating a few years, they exchanged their vows on April 1, 1961. Following their wedding they moved to South Carolina, where they began their ministry together, initially traveling around the United States; Bakker preached, while Messner sang songs and played the accordion.

The couple welcomed their first daughter, Tammy Sue “Sissy” Bakker, in 1970. While their second son, Jamie Charles Bakker was born in 1975.

Unfortunately, the duo ended their relationship on March 13, 1992. After four years of their divorce, Tammy was first diagnosed with colon cancer in March 1996, and the disease went into remission by the end of that year. After 11 years with cancer, the gorgeous died on July 20, 2007.

Following his first divorce, the handsome hunk tied his knot for the second time with Lori Beth Graham at  Professionally, she is an American televangelist, author, and motivational speaker. Interestingly, they got married only after 50 days of their first meeting. Big-hearted Bakkers adopted five children in 2002.

They celebrated 21 years anniversary on 2019, September, where Jim Bakker through his official page expressed his happiness of their togetherness. He stated,

“Happy 21st wedding anniversary Jim Bakker! You are the love of my life ♥️!!! Thank you for your unconditional love, believing in me, and being the best husband a girl could ever ask for! Met and married in 7 weeks and they said it wouldn’t last, ha ????! Thank you Lord for entrusting me with this mighty man of God, I am eternally grateful and honored that you choose me to be Jim’s wife! Jim, the son of  Raleigh Bakker and Furnia Lynette “Furn” Irwin, had celebrated his total 80 birthday to date. He has a brother, Norm Bakker. He spent his childhood with his brother and parents with good bonding. There no stories of his other siblings, cousin, or grandparents.

Back in 1987, Jim was accused of the sexual allegations by Jessica Hahn. To protect the youngest brother, Norm Bakker came upfront and speak about the situation of his brother. To UPI, he said,

‘Jim did not want a negative gospel, Jim felt (Ankerberg) was doing that some. I think it was the same with Jimmy Swaggart. It’s been rough for them. I expected Jim to come back and take over. He’s trusting. I am too. So is the rest of the family. We always want to believe the best of everyone.’

Talking about the professional life of Jim Bakker, he began his journey at Pat Robertson’s Christian Broadcasting Network, which had an audience in the low thousands at the time. His show called The Jim and Tammy Show aimed to deliver eccentrics to young children, which was broadcasted for several years.  The handsome Jim hosted the first version of The 700 Club.
