Kia Hampton is an American beauty pageant contestant who is widely known for winning the Miss Kentucky USA. Representing the Commonwealth of Kentucky, she participated Miss USA contest where she was able to make Miss Congeniality award in her name. As a teenager, Kia used to compete on several competitions and she made a great breakthrough in 2006 by being the winner of the 2006 Kentucky and Indiana Idol Contest. Getting the victory over the competition, she received a new car alongside an academic scholarship in her hometown Louisville. She was offered to sing the National Anthem at The Madison Square Gardens in New York during the opening ceremony of the Men’s Big East Conference basketball tournament.
She has appeared into numerous events, concert and even to weddings and youth organization programs. Another achievement of her name came when she was crowned as I.B.P.O. Miss Elk of the World 2007 & 2008 which took her popularity to the next level. She was approached by BET’s reality show entitled Welcome To Dreamland and was featured there. Kia Hampton used to date her then-boyfriend named Jeremy Kelly who was a convicted drug trafficker. She was arrested in Allen County, Ohio on May 26, 2017, after being caught smuggling illegal drugs i.e. marijuana into the Allen Correctional Institution. The police obtained the warrant for a cavity search after collecting evidence mainly through listening to her recorded phone calls. She was said to be carrying 2.82 grams of marijuana for her boyfriend. Later, she was sentenced to three years’ probation which had definitely ruined her career. She regrets being blindfolded in her relationship. She was made to pay a fine amount of 2,500 USD alongside 80 hours of community service.
