She was the only child to her parents named Lawrence Anderson (a school administrator) and Doris Parker-Morales (piano teacher). Her parents want to make her very talented and therefore she has admitted Houston Ballet’s Ben Stevenson Academy for training when she was just seven years old. The dancer completed her graduation in 1982 from Lamar High School.
