According to Neil Finn wiki, he was born as Neil Mullane Finn on 27 May 1958. His birthplace is Te Awamutu, New Zealand and was born to the parents named Dick Finn (father) and Mary Finn (mother). Neil Finn was raised up with his brother Tim Finn who is 6 years elder to him.
Career and Professional Life
During late 1970’s, Neil joined Split Eriz, a group which was formed by Tim and others. As a songwriter, he wrote songs like One Step Ahead, History Never Repeats, I Got You, Message to My Girl and many more. He got his international recognition in 1984 after the group terminated permanently. In 1985, Tim moved to England and that time, Neil co-founded Crowded House with Paul Hester who was a Split Enz’s last drummer. The group released their first single “Don’t Dream It’s Over” in 1987 which became a global hit and successful. The song was also written by Neil himself.
In 1996, the group Crowded House came to an end and Neil pursued his solo career from the date. Being with his brother, they formed Finn Brothers and released two studio albums together named Finn (1995) and Everyone Is Here (2004). The 2004’s album reached No.1 and No. 2 in New Zealand and Australia’s peak chart positions respectively.
In 2006, Neil’s partner and drummer Paul Hester died and later Finn reformed their previous band named Crowded House. After 13 years, they released a studio album named Time on Earth. Acquiring success, the band has performed on various world tour till date. Finn also released his third solo studio album titled “Dizzy Heights” on 7 February of 2014 via Kobalt Label Services.
