The Canadian humanitarian was born as Peter John Dalglish on May 20, 1957, which makes his age be 61 years old as of now. His place of birth is in London, Ontario.  Talking about his education and academic achievements, Dalglish went to Toronto based Upper Canada College where he was enrolled from the age of 11 to 18. For pursuing his higher education, he attended Stanford University from where he received his graduate degree. In 1983, he earned his degree from the Dalhousie Law School and was called to the Bar in 1985.

Dalglish is one of the leading authorities who is known for his work towards for war-affected children and street children. Initially, he started his work by supplying food and medicines to Ethiopia by organizing an airlift after completing his graduation from Dalhousie Law School. In Ethiopia, he found numbers of refugees who were emaciated and destitute. He returned back to his country and stated that he was going to give up his profession.

He worked for organizing humanitarian relief near Sudan’s border with Chad in a desert region for women and children. He started the first vocational training school for street children in Sudan in Khartoum in 1986, which was funded by Bob Geldof of Band Aid. He launched a bicycle courier service which was mainly operated by street children in May 1986 in Khartoum. The street children used to deliver newspapers to various offices. The dedication and unconditional contribution of Dalglish made him named in the list of the ten outstanding young people of the world by international NGO of young people named Junior Chamber International.

In 1987, he founded the Street Kids International which has been working as an agency for poor, urban children focused on designing creative self-help projects. The Street Kids International developed an animated film named Karate Kids which is about HIV prevention in co-operation with the National Film Board of Canada. The animated film is already distributed over 25 languages and has reached over 100 countries. For this, it received the Peter F. Drucker Award for Non-Profit Innovation in 1994 analyzing the success of Karate Kids.

He was hired by the Youth Service Canada as the first director in 1994. He turned as the chief technical adviser in 2002 for the child labor program designed by the United Nations in Nepal. He also worked for the South Asia Children’s Fund as its executive director. The fund is mainly concerned about promoting education in the region. He started working for UN-Habitat in Kabul, Afghanistan as its Deputy Chief of Party as well as its Senior Advisor.

Dalglish also became the part of the UN Mission for Ebola Emergency Response after his duty in Afghanistan for a year until January 2016. He has been contributing to the World Health Organization (WHO) as its Senior Urban Advisor.
