Renato Júnior Luz Sanches was born in 1997 in the Hospital Amadora-Sintra located at the Lisbon Metropolitan Area. He was born to the parents named Renato Sanches (father) and Maria das Dores (mother). His father is from São Tomé and Príncipe and mother from Cape Verde. He was called as Bulo by his grandmother. He spent his childhood days in the impoverished Lisbon, near Musgueira.
After Renato’s birth, his parents separated and after the split, his father moved to France. Renato’s birth was not registered only in 2002 when his father returned from France. Only after his return, Renato was baptized. Renato initiated his professional debut in the B-team in the second division at the 2014–15 campaign. He played for the reserve team for a year and later was promoted to the first team in 2015-16. Until 30 August 2015, he was playing in reserve. After seventeen days, in a match against Desportivo das Aves, he scored two penalty kicks bu the team made a loss of 3–2. He made a great progress in his professional career by making the debut from the first team in a match against Tondela in the 74th minute.
