Later In 1990 he left WTTG-TV and got engaged in the golf channel and worked there from 1994 to 2000. Later he appeared as the presenter for SportsCenter in ESPN which is one of the network’s top golf correspondents, covering major tournaments such as the Masters Tournament.

After he worked as an ESPN’s Open Championship coverage,  and in ESPN Radio as a co-host of Tirico and Van Pelt alongside Mike Tirico. In 2009, the radio program was replaced by  Van Pelt’s own three-hour program. In 2012, his program was renamed SVP & Russillo.

The dashing anchor was also spotted as a commentator in golf video games, with Kelly Tilghman on EA Sports’ Tiger Woods PGA Tour 10 and Tiger Woods PGA Tour 1 and  Aqua Teen Hunger Force Zombie Ninja Pro-Am.
