Sophia Choi was born in 1971 at Taegu, Korea. At the age of seven, she shifted to the US and joined Hollywood Elementary school in Maryland. She is a Korean-American nationality and white ethnicity. At 12, due to her father’s death, she moved to Tennessee and again joined Baptist High School. Later after her school completion, she joined the University of Missouri and graduated with a degree in Journalism. After her graduation, she joined KOMU-TV and also worked for University radio station KBIA.
Sophia initiated her professional career at WSET-TV, an ABC affiliation channel and later worked for WVTM-TV. She switched the channel and then worked for KCBS-TV, the CBS affiliate and then in 2001, she migrated to Atlanta and joined CNN. In 2006, she left the channel and for a brief traveling to China. In 2007, she again joined KVBC-TV then after in 2011, July 8 she debuted in WSB TV, reporting weekly news.
