He was trained by wrestler Danny Cage. On January 26, 2013, he made his debut in Monster Factory Pro Wrestling where he got victorious against Anthony Bennett. On March 9, 2013, he won the MFPW Tag Team Championship along with Mike Spanos marking his first title win. He won against Q.T. Marshall on August 3, 2013, marking his second title win as he received the MFPW Heavyweight Championship.

He used his ring name “Steve Cutler” while marking his debut on WWE’s brand NXT that took place on June 12, 2014, where he was defeated by CJ Parker. He appeared in multiple singles matches and also made his frequent appearances in the year 2014 where he experienced mixed wins and losses. He entered into a feud with Baron Corbin with whom he lost multiple times.

However, The Forgotten Sons lost to Aleister Black and Ricochet in the finals on March 13 during the WWE NXT tapings.

The duo participated a fatal four-way ladder match that took place on June 1, 2019, for the vacant NXT Tag Team Championship. The Forgotten Sons recorded a loss despite the interference from Jaxson Ryker.

Steve Cutler, Wesley Blake and Jaxson Ryker made their SmackDown debut on April 10, 2020, episode where they successfully defeated the Lucha House Party. They created a sensation on the SmackDown by attacking The New Day and Lucha House Party on the April 24 episode.

On the May 1 episode, the trio got victorious against The New Day (Big E, Kofi Kingston and Xavier Woods) in a non-title match. He with Jaxson Ryker started portraying as American patriots highlighting their services in the marines.
