She started her journalism career by working for the Columbus Call & Post Newspaper as a reporter and a photographer. In 1992, she became the part of the WTTE as a receptionist in the promotion and the department for public service. In 1996, she joined WSYX News as a reporter. She was able to impress her superiors and the entire networks crew members. Finally, she turned as the presenter. She appeared into the limelight after becoming the host of the programs like Take 1 and FOX28 Kids Club.
At the end of 2016, Yolanda took leave from the stations and allocated some time for refreshment and preparation for her further journey. She appeared back to the television on WNBS Channel 10 News as the co-anchor with Jerry Revish in July 2017.
