Wrestling career

He made his wrestling debut with the ring name “Hardcore Wonder’ from FVWA (Fox Valley Wrestling Alliance). He was in the limelight when he turned the winner of the NWA Wisconsin X Division Championship in 2005. With Devin Diamond, he earned the SSW Tag Team Championship in May 2006. As he grabbed an opportunity to sign with WWE, he relinquished the title.

 

Hornswoggle and Finlay

 

He made his televised debut on WWE as ‘Little Bastard’ on SmackDown on May 26, 2006. He was featured as the leprechaun partner of Finlay where he came out from under the ring and humped on Finlay’s opponent Paul Burchill.

Postl made his regular appearances where he used to attack Finlay’s opponents after the match. He was seen as being more aggressive and was out of control while attacking Gunner Scott where he bit Finlay who was trying to stop him. He played a crucial role in helping Finlay earn the WWE United States Championship by knocking out the Champion Bobby Lashley.

His character name was changed to “Hornswoggle’ from ‘Little Bastard’ on February 23, 2007. He also helped Finlay to defeat Mr. Kennedy on March 30. He tried to interfere with Kennedy on behalf of Finlay during the Money in the Bank ladder match at WrestleMania 23 where he was hit by Kennedy. Finlay took revenge for Hornswoggle by attacking Mr. Kennedy on the following edition of SmackDown and challenged him for a handicap match. However, Mr. Kennedy apologized for his mistake after which he teamed with Finlay.

On July 22, 2007, he defeated Jamie Noble in a Cruiserweight Open at The Great American Bash which made him earn the WWE Cruiserweight Championship. Finlay and Khali faced Armageddon where Finlay defeated Khali with the aid of Hornswoggle.

Hornswoggle faced The Great Khali again on the 15th Anniversary of Raw during which he received aid from Hulk Hogan. He faced his father Mr. McMahon in a steel cage match on the February 18 episode of Raw where he was whipped with a leather belt by Mr. McMahon. After the match, McMahon allowed JBL to beat up Hornswoggle during which Finlay was handcuffed to the ring ropes. As a part of the storyline, WWE announced that Hornswoggle went through spinal trauma and bleeding of the brain.

He made his return on the April 18 episode of SmackDown where he became victorious over Tadpole Splash. With Finlay, he was drafted to the ECW brand during the 2008 WWE Supplemental Draft. The duo was defeated by The Miz and John Morrison for the WWE Tag Team Championship at Night of Champions on June 29, 2008.

He was drafted to the Raw brand on April 13, 2009, after which he began a feud with Chavo Guerrero. He was seen with a Randy Orton doll on October 12, 2012, while Ricardo Rodriguez was looking for real Randy Orton. Later, he was seen associating himself with Natalya and The Great Khali. He and Robbie E were defeated by Spud and Aron Rex on January 19, episode of Impact Wrestling.
